Korean glass noodle salad "Funchosa"

In Russia, the term "funchosa" actually refers to glass noodles from East Asian cuisine. In Russian-speaking circles, however, one associates this word with a popular party salad.


  • 1 package of glass noodles
  • 1 big pepper
  • 2 smallish cucumbers
  • 1 big carrot
  • 1 bunch of spring onions
  • 100 ml soy sauce
  • Lemon juice
  • 1 red onion


The base of "funchosa" salad usually consists of glass noodles as well as marinated peppers, sesame oil or soy sauce and sweet onions. Other ingredients can be selected according to taste. The vegetarian version of "Funchosa" is made with vegetables: fresh cucumbers, carrots, spring onions, asparagus beans, mushrooms. There is also a version of this dish with meat, preferably chicken or beef. And seafood lovers can add shrimp and mussels or use a packaged Frutti di Mare mix.

30 minutes

1. Cut carrot into thin strips.

2. Cut cucumber likewise.

3. Grate pepper roughly oder cut into thin strips.

4. Finely slice onion.

5. Cook glass noodles for 7-8 minutes.

6. Drain off water, take out noodles.

7. Add soy sauce and lemon juice to noodles.

8. Add vegetables.

9. Stir well, let marinate for 20 minutes.

10. Serve at room temperature.
