Our history
The food retail chain Mix-Markt has specialised in the sales of international products and holds the European leading position in this. The first Mix Markt was founded in 1997. Since then, the chain has been expanding continually and is now represented in Germany and Europe with 392 supermarkets. Each Mix-Markt has a wide range of specialities from many countries in Europe and Asia, which is successfully supplemented by drug stored and household goods. We are trying to offer a unique shopping experience to a multicultural customer circle with a large selection at an outstanding price-performance ratio.
The first Mix-Markt opened in Örlinghausen, district Lippe in North-Rhine Westphalia. Only two years later, there were ten branches that achieved a still-humble turnover of five million Euro. Five years after founding, the turnover multiplied tenfold to nearly 55 M Euro across 40 branches. Today, there are 186 branches in Germany, in which about 780 M Euro are achieved. Mix-Markt branches have been opened in Belgium, Bulgarien, France, Greece, United Kingdom, Italy, Malta, Montenegro, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Serbien, Slowakei, Slowenien, Spain, Czech Republic, Cyprus.
The markets are supplied by the corporate group Monolith, which has most of the goods produced in Germany. Up to sixty percent of the goods sold in Mix-Market branches are from Monolith group.
