Stuffed peppers - a dish that is very popular with young and old. In fact, this main dish originally comes from the Jewish cuisine. Today, the popularity of this dish can only compete with the famous salad "Olivier", which is very popular in the CIS countries.

Ingredients

  • 6 peppers
  • 500 g minced chicken
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 bunch of coriander
  • 1 big onion
  • 30 ml of olive oil
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • Salt
  • 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 100 g Arborio rice
  • 120 ml of water for the sauce
  • 500 ml of water for steaming

Description

Practically all countries in the world have this recipe: vegetables filled with different kinds of minced meat. Stuffed aubergines, zucchini or peppers are a culinary must-have in many countries, especially when this vegetable is in season. Then the markets are full of fresh peppers that are bought up in big quantities to prepare the obligatory dish for the fall.

Nowadays, many housewives keep preparing stuffed peppers for the winter, freezing them and serving them in winter when the peppers season is over.

The secret of such a recipe is simplicity - the dish is delicious and quickly prepared. Try one of the many recipes and you will understand why this dish is so popular, especially in Eastern Europe.

1. Prepare all the ingredients.

2. Parboil the rice, it should not be completely soft.

3. Slice open the peppers, remove the cores and deseed them.

4. Place peppers on a board, ready for stuffing.

5. Chop the herbs.

6. Cut the onion.

7. Grate the carrots.

8. Finely chop the garlic.

9. Place into a bowl: minced meat, half of the herbs, minced chicken, half of the carrots, sweet paprika, cumin, half of the chopped onion, salt and pepper

10. Mix all the ingredients well.

11. Stuff the peppers.

12. Fry the garlic, the remaining onion, carrots und herbs in olive oil. Add the tomato paste, cumin and sweet paprika. Stir one cup of water into the mix and simmer for 5 minutes.

13. Place the stuffed peppers into the pot. Add water until the peppers are almost completely covered. Cook over medium heat.

14. Cover the pot with a lid and simmer for 30 minutes.

15. Serve hot.
